What a coincidence! I'm running moksha 0.3.1 with efl 1.22.5 today! Did you compile the e17 yourself or using a prepackaged binary?

It was not really a coincidence Tex as I went to update my pclos e17 system, but found problems,
probably conflicts as I just used files an files devel on spec file making efl and e.
My e17.6 build was one few years ago I made with rpmbuild think I modded screenshot so could upload to enlightenment.org/ss

I managed to sort it, but something was wrong with screenshot uploading to enlightenment.org/ss on my system,
maybe it was caused by the problems I had or possibly 0.22.3 was a dodgy release.

I built efl 1.22.5 using your spec file but for some reason needed to comment out the obsoletes %name-deve,l
even though my old efl-devel had been removed.

I used the version on git not from e downloads, the versions on git have meson build as an alternative on releases,
but I used autotools, as probably at present still best way for reliability. (Though I normally just use git meson builds)
I still had trouble installing the lib64efl1 even though it had already the 1.22.3 version installed,
after fiddling managed to install the 1.22.5 and had screenshot uploading working again.

I have not tried that version of moksha, as saw no reason what with having my pclos e17.6 build working well.
(Though I did make a pclos moksha iso with modded menu, in past but received hardly any interest when shared it with couple of people privately)
I get the impression Robert is now lead dev with moksha, he seems a clever guy.
(Though not sure if moksha really has much in way of improvements to e17.6)

I like e17 an ecomorph, but think e23 and wayland are the future as it is constantly developed.
Maybe you could get fired up and find a way to get wayland working on pclos.
I have been told elogind would be possible route, but I'm a noob and no idea how to do it.

Best wishes,
OnlyHuman

I've been playing with moksha all day and it seems to have about the same bugs as E17. The only difference is bodhi put in custom config setup files and my moksha rpm is 4.30 mb while my E17 rpm is 25.30 mb.

Is that yours I downloaded from here a couple years ago? looked gorgeous but locked up on me fairly early.  Should try it again on newer hardware.

Day may be coming when we don't have a choice. The other day I saw somewhere that some bugs in X11 will no longer be fixed, which always makes me think EOL.

I've only looked at a couple Wayland distros but my main gripe was that it insisted on newish hardware, or it wouldn't work at all. Don't know if that also made it sluggish, or if it's just that PCLOS has ruined me (I've gotten used to it being slick on a 10yo machine).

I liked e17 mainly because if I wanted I could use ecomorph with it.
Not sure of situation with bodhi, but on my version it seemed to have a lot stripped out, so I promptly put it all back, simply by copying the files from my e17 system. :)
Maybe if not wanting latest enlightenment just put back all the old pclos e17 stuff.
Seen several bodhi users mention about getting a notification that they can update enlightenment that they seem unable to get rid of.
Personally think best to use latest enlightenment,
If able to invest time find a way to get wayland working (the e devs would probably try and help).

Not sure if my ***30 iso with wayland works with old hardware but this i7 is pretty old Reziac, but I use my own modded build not the distro version. I think nvidia implemented their own wayland which conflicts with the open community version, but intel an probably amd graphics cards should be ok with wl.

Lessee... this is the one I tried:
PCLinuxOS32-Enlightenment-OnlyHuman-efl-1.18.4-e21.5-20161209.iso
If you've got a newer one you could share, that would be fun to look at!
I have an i7 that will be the "new" linux box (if I ever have time to get to it); it has an ATI vidcard, and does work with Wayland.
I've noticed that these ATI cards have much richer color than the nominally-similar nVidia cards.
