Magazine Article Search
« on: August 27, 2019, 11:14:51 PM »
At the PCLinuxOS Magazine's site, I cannot get the Magazine Article Search to work.

It has worked in the recent past.

For instance, I know that meemaw wrote an article on the adventures of getting a new laptop loaded with PCLOS.  I believe it was in the Fall of 2017.  I've tried searching for 'laptop'.  I get "No matches were found for '(laptop or laptops)' " on the Search Results page.  I'm using the standard search parameters, viz.
     Match: All
     Format: Long

Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?

Alan

@kslinux

Yes, you are right

I did a few searches, and all came back with " not found "

I think it's about the fact that "  search "" doesn't work, regardless what you search for  ;D

Just curious if someone could update us.  I periodically try to search for magazine articles and I get the "No matches were found for . . ." message.

I know there has been a lot of things that have happened in the last 3-1/2 months.  If this is a low priority, that is understandable and acceptable.  I don't mean to pressure anyone.  It has been awhile since this was first posted and I was curious if any troubleshooting was being done.

Thanks.

In the meantime, use your web search engine to search the website.

It is still getting segmentation faults and I can not figure it out.  You will have to figure out another way to find what you are looking for.  Sorry....   You might try using https://pclosmag.com/html/global.html#dec19  for there you can scroll through and see all the index pages for all the magazines produced

Google for a "search phrase", in the magazine contents-
Code: [Select]
site:https://pclosmag.com/ "search phrase"usually finds what one, is looking for.

With Duckduckgo and Startpage (I forget Google), all you need in the search bar is 'term' site:pclosmag.com

Most intriguing is actually that ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Frensehen, or Second German Television) is one of the fully open and free broadcasters in Germany. However, the Youtube channel ZDF-E (obviously English language) is not available here  :o

Thank goodness I can switch my VPN to another country so I can watch it. This stuff is really getting out of hand!
