Slimjet Browser updated to 4.0.6.0

News Comments Off on Slimjet Browser updated to 4.0.6.0

Slimjet is built on top of the Chromium open-source project on which Google Chrome is also based. It enjoys the same speed and reliability provided by the underlying blink engine as Google Chrome. Linux Kernel 4.0.4 available for PCLinuxOS

News Comments Off on Linux Kernel 4.0.4 available for PCLinuxOS

The Linux kernel has been updated to version 4.0.4 and is available for both 32 and 64bit platforms. This is the latest and most advanced kernel version and contains many driver updates. Linux kernels are not part of your normal updates. You will need to select it from within your Synaptic Package Manager for installation. It will install next to your previous kernel so either can be selected at boot. It is a good idea to run the new kernel a few days to make sure it plays nice with your hardware before removing your previous kernel. Please note on first boot of the new kernel will be slower than normal as it needs to build new dkms drivers. Subsequent boots will be normal.
