I tried to get pclinux os full monty to boot on a dell Inspiron 1525  but it hangs on boot  and pc Linux os lxde's panel does not auto start I have to use terminal to start it manually

Is this meant to be 2 separate questions? If so, you need a separate topic for each question.
Or are you saying that you used the terminal to start lxpanel on Full Monty? For what purpose? What does lxpanel provide that you need, so you installed it to KDE?

Please provide information, the more the better, when you ask questions.

You need to start a separate topic for this question.

You need to provide more information.
Did you install from a liveCD of PCLinuxOS-LXDE? If so, was it the full or the mini version? Or did you add LXDE to one of the other versions by installing task-lxde?

Describe your hardware. "dell Inspiron 1525" only provides a brand and type.

When you downloaded PCLinuxOS, did you check the md5sum against the download?

Were there any error messages? If so, what were they? Be exact!

When you start lxpanel from the terminal, is there any terminal feedback? What is it? (You can use copy and paste to post it here.)
