Need help choosing proper hardware (solved)
« on: November 13, 2011, 10:43:22 AM »
I am using WiFi provided by my Mobil Home Park.  At the present time I have a outside antenna that brings the signal into my Mobil Home.  The signal goes to a Linksys wrt54g router with DD-WRT firmware installed.  I have made the router into a Client Bridge using that firmware.  I have then connected all my devices to that router (which is now a "Client Bridge") with a Ethernet cable.  This set up works great.  But a person is never satisfied.  Right?  Now I want to bring that signal into the house to some kind of device that will broadcast the signal to all my devices wireless.  I am sure there must be such a device out there some where but I haven't found it.  Anyone have a idea what would work?

you can connect a second router to the first ethernet port of the router, set it to dhcp and from the second create a wireless network to do what you want, this is useful if you have a router doing nothing around, some of us have one because internet providers gives us now modems with wireless routers offering 4 ethernet ports

there was a guide explaining how to use that router you have to be bridge and wireless router but i can't find it, maybe in the wrt website?

not sure if here is explained that

probably you used this instructiuons?

Sorry that it took so long to get back to this Post.  Today I finished my installation.  If you would read my first post, all hardware and connection are the same.  But the firmware has been updated to "DD-WRT v24 sp 2 .  I then changed the router to "Repeater Bridge".  I can now connect to the Parks WiFi Wired or Wireless.  It was so simple.  I will mark this as "solved"  Thanks to all who replied
