(FIXED)Cannot update Firefox & libxmms1

Hello,

Everytime I try to update via Apt-get or Synaptic. I get this popup:

E: Could not get lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the download directory

Im not very sure what it means. At 1st I thought it was referring to the downloads folder firefox saves files to. So I removed FF from the list and just tried only updating libxmms1. No luck. I still get that same error msg. I tried checking for/fixing broken packages via synaptic. Still I cannot update the files or get anything else.

This msg 1st popped up on Apt-get. Which was the 1st means I tried to use to update the 2 packages after notifier flashed that there was "new updates ready". When it failed. I then tried using synaptic. That also failed. So, I am pretty stumped.

Till I can get this upgraded, I can still just use the previous ver of FF as is. I am using PCLOS2011 KDE4.6.5(for what its worth).

A process is using the file /var/cache/apt/archives/lock. You can't update because of it.

Is there some reason you chose apt-get over synaptic from the update-notifier menu? Choose synaptic. Do you install new packages using apt-get? Close all programs and reboot your computer. See if the problem persists.
