Kde

Kernel 2.638.8

The boot screen is ok.when it gets to the Desktop screen it will dim down To save power.I would like to increase the brightness. Can not  find a control to do this.

In Power Management I only have performance setting.

power management of what desktop environment

the first info you posted doesn't help at all

in my toshiba netbook all i have to do is FN+F6 or FN+F7 to decrease or increase brightness but that is in kde4

also in power management setting i configured it to work with all brightness when charging and 70% when on battery

I'm missing something here. Increased brightness = increased power usage.  ???
