[SOLVED] Dual boot Problem

My son finally decided to give Pclos LXDE a try.
I installed and updated it on his laptop and everything was fine.
Then he decided to compare it to Mint 9 LTS on the
same laptop.
That went easily also.

But know Pclos won't boot.
My options at bootup are Mint on sda6
And some other options,(recovery,old kernel,memtest).

Pclos shows up as:
linux on dev sda1
and
linux-non fb on dev sda1

I get a kernel panic trying to load either of the last two.

It sounds like you are likely running into issues due to Mint installing Grub2.  Search on that on the forum and you might find a solution.

It sounds like you let mint install its grub to the MBR, thus overwriting the current MBR.     
Boot your PCLinuxOS LXDE liveCD and run Restore MBR. Add an entry for the mint install.

That's sounds like the simplest solution.
