[SOLVED] Playing Commerical DVDs?

Is it possible to play commercial DVDs in my laptop?
I have not been able to do this ???

You need some libs...

Search for libdvdcss2, libdvdread, libdvdnav, and player (VLC, or XINE, or MPLAYER).
I use here umplayer (frontend for MPLAYER), and works very well so far  ;)

due to the "grey" nature of DVDplayback, due to the dvdconsortium's licencing if you want to playback commercial dvds you need to install the necessary libs app yourself, search in synaptic for libdvd and you will find what you need

Installing "task-multimedia" from Synaptic should solve the issue too....
(and indeed VLC plays most of the stuff available  :))
