Tonight for the first time since I purchased the package around six months ago, I actually got it to accept training from the front panel mic and to play back through the headphones. I only dictated a couple of words but at least it works.
I am using Windows XP and VMware Player 4. It cannot be done under VirtualBox (so far). The O/S I am using is PCLinuxOS 64-bit test03. Already this is a superior bit of kit even though 'it will be ready when it is ready'.
I really take off my hat to the development team. Although I prefer Mandriva's software install system to Synaptic, it is a very nice environment.
