I send a private message to Melanie (using this Forum), yesterday, but maybe yoy can contact Melanie a lot better than me.
Can you sent to Melanie a message to inform her about our proposal?

Considering that you're in Italy and she's in France, you're closer to her than I am in the U.S. I'm sure she'll get back to you. She probably just hasn't been to the forum and seen her PM yet.

Thank you the same Djohnston!
I'm -just now- uploading first (but not the last!) ISO (ZEN-mini Edition)... It's a slow work, but a good work to do!
Our Server make us problems only for the Fullmonty ISO (it's too large, for it!)... So, I think, we cannot host FullMonty and can only put an article on this version and a link to official download.
For all orthers (officials and not-officials) ISOs all work good (when Melanie send me to agree the Educational ISO too will be added).

Have a nice day, Djohnson!  :)

Hi,

Why do you call me Melanie ? My pseudo is Mélodie, or melodie (and I don't want another one ! ;D )

Of course you can host it. I would recommand you try it yourself first, test it, see about the security part which has been especially setup for this version, also acknowledge that it is not an official ISO, and that it will also be updated once a while, at least 2 times a year and very soon next if I can do it.

I was just wondering about the website you gave me as a link in your pm, the first part of the page states:
«Il contenuto è proprietà intellettuale del Prof. Antonio Cantaro e potrà essere utilizzato in toto o anche in stralcio, solo su autorizzazione dell'autore. »

How can the website promote Free Software, GNU/Linux distribution, and not have the content under a free licence ? ie : CC, CC-by ? http://creativecommons.org/

A new, good event: Siamer also agree to hosting his ISOSs on our Site and Forum.
So, we can offer to italian PCLinuxOS lovers the PCLinuxOS ZENmini!
All you are wonderful. Thank you more, for this, beautiful people!  :)

Can you tell me how that is possible ? Since his move a few months ago Siamer has not sent a new mail where to join him. What version have you downloaded ? His version or the latest available ? :)

Regards,
Mélodie

PS: I think this post from Texstar should also be known by the person who is going to manage and present the distribution and it's different flavors at the Italian forum : Can I distribute a remastered version of PCLinuxOS?. The new comers also tend to confuse "Free of charge" (ie: freeware and shareware) with "Free distributed source code", (Software distributed under a Free Open Source Licence) which can create a bad confusion sometimes.

Yes, of course. And if you send me a notice (when a new relase of ISO is complete) I will be update the ISO first as possible.

Prof. Antonio Cantaro is well know, in all Italy, for his struggle to spree free-software and GNU/Linux. He is the Site (and Forum) Admin. I cannot explain for him, of course. But you can ask about to him directly, if you like.

The PCLinuxOS 2011 ZEN-mini ISO that I have uploaded today (for download, I must before upload all the ISOs, of course) is the "september-iso": the last version, I think. I have the previus ISO too (a july-iso and a Siamer work, this), but he tell me that in this time "other person is continue my work" (it's his exaclty words), so I download this last version to hosting.
I really receive a reply (from Siamer) and he agree to my proposal about the ISO hosting and promise to me "I will let you know when new version will be available...".
I can write him and can tell him to send a email to you, if you like...

About "remastering": we would host YOURS ISOs (Officials ands not-Officials, without modifications), not to create a new (our) ISO. No one, never, tell me about  one "our remasterization" ideas... Personally, I don't like that... because I think that your existing versions (Officials and not-Officials) are very good. You are the Devenlopers. We would only give you a (little) help hosting your ISOs "without change" (and not "making" new ISOs).

Sure, I would be pleased to get news from him. For now it is Slax who has taken after him. You can join Slax the same way or at the linuxgator.org forum. The edition of September has been made available by him.

I have missed your answer and added a PS. Yet for the Professor Antonio Cantaro, he might want to add something such as "except otherwise mentioned on images, pages, or files in the site", which will imply some content of the site may be under other licenses, therefore avoiding confusion.

Else, I can't notify you when new versions will be available. I write a post at News and Announcements, so that all know about it. If you subscribe to the notifications at that sub-forum you will know.

Regards,
Mélodie

I'm sorry, Exploder, but a torrent-service isn't possible, We have not resources other than hosting the ISOs for a standard download.  :'(
Now, I'm working to upload 17 ISOs...
