[Answered] Browser won't open when clicking on link in lxterminal.

Hi all.

Just like in the topic. Browser won't open when clicking on link in lxterminal. If I will use konsole and right click on the link and choose "Open link" then Firefox starts without a problem.

How comes? How to diagnose / fix it?

  You can copy and paste from lxterminal to your browser, but it doesn't have right click -- open with options.

I can copy the link and paste to the browser ok - but when I try to left click on the link in LXTerminal (cursor changes to little hand with pointing finger) nothing happens. Does LXTerminal supports link clicking / browser opening or am I mistaken?

When in Konsole I can right click on link and choose Open link - this opens Firefox with the linked site.

I am using MiniMe 2010.x fully upgraded with task-lxde on top of it.

Reread my first reply, Andy. It wasn't a question, my friend. LXTerminal "doesn't have right click -- open with options.

I don't understand... I never said it had. All I am saying is that when I LEFT click on link in LXTerminal it does not opens browser even tho LXTerminal looks like it recognizes that it's a link.

I said that I am RIGHT clicking in Konsole. Not in LXTerminal...

Look at the screenshots, maybe this will make my question clearer Homey:

LXTerminal - cursor changes (screenshot app is not seeing / showing this - but cursor changes and it looks like a small hand) - looks like link is recognized but when LEFT clicking on it - nothing happens.

Konsole - I cannot click (left) on link directly but when I right click on it - I can choose to open it.

So my question is: Can LXTermina open a browser after a link was clicked? If yes - then mine is not doing it - how can I diagnose / fix this?

I am sorry if I sound stupid / annoying but that's the last thing that I need to get going before I can stop using the heavier Konsole on this older machine.

Ah... I am sorry to hear this too. It's the last thing that forces me to continue to use Konsole on this older machine. But it's ok . No worries and thanks for the info .

Not really no... I got used to Konsole very much and I found LXTerminal and I thought Ok... if I am running LXDE on this machine I could use native terminal... I looked at it for months like a dog on a hedgehog and I tried to get used to it... After a while I could almost move to it... 1 thing left - links. But since LXTerminal cannot do this - I will just keep using Konsole. Maybe future releases will be capable of doing it? No worries - it's not a matter of life and death .

ctrl + shift + click
had this problem too with screen/irssi
