This problem has started to occur in the last week or so. I though it was only related to playing videos but have noticed the same behaviour with other applications as well. What will happen, and it could be at the start of the application or at the end of the application, the entire session that is running is terminated, I see some OS type messages fly by on the screen and then I am back at the login prompt. I have to restart all the programs that I have running and if any download was in progress, nine times out of ten, the download restarts from the beginning, the other one, it usually is ended with a filesize of 16K. This problem has occurred with SMPlayer, Firefox and "Configure Your Computer". Typically I have about four or five different applications running at all times - Firefox, Krusader, Thunderbird, Vuze and Pidgin. Any clues as to what may be happening to cause this?
