Wiimote for PCLinuxOS
« on: October 04, 2011, 06:33:47 AM »
I was hoping someone could point me to a good tutorial for setting up wiimote use in PCLinuxOS.  I found this:  http://www.linuxpromagazine.com/Issues/2009/100/Wiimote-with-Linux   but I'm not sure how it translates to our distro.  I'm running KDE4 and have installed all the related wiimote & bluetooth packages.

the wiipdf, you need to do a package request for it, same for wmdemo and wminput

libcwiid and wmgui are in repos and you can install them with synaptic now

the other modules like bluez is already in repos if not already installed

you need a bluetooth adapter and a wiimote to do it

follow the steps but forget the sudo crap, see if you can detect the wii in the way it is mentioned, follow the other steps

the article is from 2009 and we are almost in 2012, some things might have changed

as you see, based on that article the uses you can give to it are limited and the precision leaves alot to desire afik, so if it works, don't expect much from it
