Confirmed when logged into neither the forums nor min.us, from a separate OS/browser, I was able to see the posted "Private" image (previous post)...

So, no security here...be wary of what you store here.

Having said that, this is still a useful site/service with lots of space allocated...

A private image should not have links for sharing underneath it, while a public one does ........  I thought that was how it was done ......  must check it out a bit more .....

Folders cannot be viewed, or their contents, if marked private, I believe

The image I posted above is, indeed, marked "Private" (I just re-checked).  If you can see it...

It cannot be viewed publicly ....  sorry for the confusion ..... unless the link is provided

There is a search function on the top of the page .....  put in Texstar and see what he has shared .....  put in Clareoldie and see that you can access nothing ......  but I can give you a link to view ......

At least I think that is it .....  open to correction of course .....

I didn't understand what was meant by 'home page' .....  thought it was what the account holder sees ;)

It does seem that you can have private folders with files in them that cannot be accessed, except you release a link to each file.

Nope ......  I have to agree ......  there appears to be no way to keep anything private once ONE link from a folder has been released.
You can follow the path to get to the other files within that folder.

Sorry.

By that, I mean the page that is "yours".  By your own example, search for "textsar", and you'll go to a page that show texstar's public images...I meant that would be texstar's "home page"

Yes.  Releasing the link allows anyone to see (which the site does disclaim right from the beginning, so there is no indication of subversion on their part).

Just want people to understand that, in the case of min.us, "Private" does not mean "restricted from all but a select view"...if the link is discovered, the content is revealed!
(For example, we've been posting away in this forum...it'll get indexed by the search engines...)

The images in your private folder can be viewed, if you provide a link to any image in that folder. I thought this was understood. ???

The Chief started a topic about a rival for DropBox
And many of you signed up trying to buy its stocks

Just18 was the first to bite and make a little test
Then came menotu, YouCanToo, Neal and soon all the rest

Everything was going fine the links were all in place
There was a question of privacy.......well just in case

Then began the race to get an extra gigabyte
Sign up from my page.......but at least there was no fight

Got a strange Instant Message from a elderly Pidgin Flirt
Wondering what I was doing in a Red Xmas Shirt

HUH? I thought......where did he get that?
And now I agree with Neal who said, "Bad TexCat"

Glad I'm not the only one who was exposed by the boss
If you don't want to be included.......that's just your loss

Look at our pictures........we are all probably older
But just be thankful Tex didn't put us in his Funny Folder  ;D
