Tapping is the same as mouse clicking, I believe.     

If the touchpad works fine on your T60, why mess with it? ???

Because I needed to test it in a machine where it works fine : to know what it does, before adding it for the future versions to come, in PCLinuxOS Openbox.

I have one more question, does such a thing as "ksynaptics" exist, or do we only have the library for it ?

Tap the pad itself to click rather than a standard button.  Also 2 fingered scrolling or tap to grab all with pad rather than buttons.

If you can manually create the file in xorg.conf.d, you don't need gsynaptics.
