the broadcom-wl driver was updated recently ... probably it is the cause of your problem.

The old driver was broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36-1pclos 2010
the new one is broadcom-wl-5_100_82_112-1pclos 2012

Please, could you confirm about ?
That would means: reboot your netbook in linux open synaptic and verify about the broadcom-wl package version.

Thanks

OK, yours is the second report about broadcom-wl-5_100_82_112-1pclos 2012 update not working, guess there is a problem with that driver. I will post further info as soon as possible.

glad you solved,I misread: the old rpm is still available here:

Code: [Select]
ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/www.pclinuxos.com/apt/pclinuxos/2010/RPMS.nonfree/dkms-broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36-1pclos2010.i586.rpm
please download the rpm, move it to a USB stick, reboot in linux and move it to some directory, say /tmp
open a terminal and type the following commands:
Code: [Select]
su
rpm -e dkms-broadcom-wl
rpm -ivh /tmp/dkms-broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36-1pclos2010.i586.rpm

Let us know if it solve your issue.

Hello AS:

I followed the steps you gave and YES! It solved the issue! Thank you very much! :)

I suppose this means I should look out and avoid installing the broadcom-wl-5_100_82_112-1pclos 2012 driver if it appears in Synaptic... until a newer version come out, I guess.

Thanks again!

We have rolled back to the previous version dkms-broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36

If you have installed the new dkms-broadcom-wl-5_100_82_112, open synaptic, remove it, reload and reinstall the previous one.
