My output from cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info:

battery type:            Lion
OEM info:                CEX

My output from uname -r:
Quote
2.6.38.8-pclos3.a64

* Same result with bfs. Same kernel but with bfs I could not even suspend,  with a64 suspend works.  a64 seems to work better for me.

My output from lshw:

       configuration: voltage=11,1V

I do not know if this is a acpi bug or something else. If  its wrong part of the forum, I hope moderator can change it to the right section.

Thanks!

I have now tried different things:
Different kernel parameter (example):
acpi=force (Did not work)

Instead of bfs kernel I switched to .a64 and also installed  powernowd  (Not any effect on this).

I unplugged the charger and let the laptop be on battery-mode. I unchecked the option to suspend when the battery level is low. After all power from the battery was gone, I plugged the charges and let the battery load when laptop was close. This I did because I hoped it maybe would calibre correct afterwards. No effect.

I am running out on any ideas for a solutionen. One weird thing was when the power was at  0 % it was still running for several minutes. Normally when the laptop is on battery-mode and I am surfing the battery will last in 20 minutes (max). Suspend will take place when it reaches 5 %. This time, I could get 36 minutes (remember I unchecked option to Suspend even if the level was 0 %).

Either this is a acpi bug or the bios driver is buggy. The laptop is running the latest bios driver. Like I pointed it out before.

Any solution, or any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

the info from the battery seems right to me, extensive maybe and i don't know what to look at?

are you running kde4?

my netbook responds to what i configure in the battery monitor

your battery, how old is it? seems to be a year old battery

Hey!

I am running the latest PCLinuxOS with KDE. If you read more careful you will understand something is wrong. Example:
Battery 0: design capacity 3794 mAh, last full capacity 4228 mAh = 100%

The configuration is not the issue and yes I have configured it right. The last full capacity should not be higher then design capacity. If it is, something is wrong; either with acpi, bios or the battery. My laptop is over 4 years old, but I rarely use my battery. I most of the time take it out from the laptop.

Thanks anyway!

i was reading the second value, the 47000mhw but yes, it says it had more than that last time  ;D

i wasn't using my glasses, a case where nothing looks wrong because you can't see a thing  :D

yes, it is giving higher results than it should give

since this a 4 year old battery, it already should have lost 30% of the maximum capacity or more

acpi depends on the kernel to read the values, if no driver on kernel, no reading

please try this command  acpitool -B

No problem T6, we all do mistakes.  :)

The CLI-output:
bash: acpitool: kommandot finns inte (no such command)

Are you sure about the CLI?  ;D

same weird results

the module used is the problem

do you have windows installed on that machine?  there is a app called hwmonitor, free and can be downloaded form this link

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

it offers similar results so it can be used for comparison purposes

I only use PCLinuxOS for now. I am not much of dual-boot. I have not used Windows for about 2 years. Removed it and replaced it with my first Linux Distro (Buntu).  :)
