TACO: EVERYTHING worked! AWESOME. A few "tweaks" to the desktop file and all was finished. Wonderful and thanks again.

MELODIE: I will read it later; I have it bookmarked so I can get back to it again. Thanks for the link.

I'm glad you sorted your issue out, billy7720. I'm sure a lovely young granddaughter will be happy with it.  :)

Will,

You are most welcome.

Now all I have to do is find some games to play on this DBGL I've now got installed in my computer ;D.

Taco.22

Taco.22;

If you're looking for something that is extremely hard to find or you can't find it let me know; I may have it. I have games from 1980 to today. I have some that you can't find almost anywhere like QBert by Parker Brothes in 1983, Lost Tomb by Datasoft in 1984 and more. Let me know.

Just a thank you for your help. Her machine works perfectly and there is a single icon on the desktop for her to launch DBGL. That's it. Works perfect. Again if you can't find a really hard to find game, PM me.

Thanks once again.

PS: Archie, she's a friend's daughter but she calls me "Uncle Billy" and that makes me feel great. She's a great kid and is going to turn 7 on October 30th. She deserves this older computer and I can't wait to see her face when she can play all the great learning games I have for her on it. ;)

Thanks again guys!

Sincerely;
Will

Mini Gamebox? Huh? Tell me where to start...You mean a "kids" type of mini version? It will take me time to even come up with anything really. I'm a dos gamer but have a few ideas....give me time I guess.

@Will

Melodie has a project. It's called PCLinuxOS Edu. It's an OS bundled with educational software. And she's asking for your help to list DOSBOX games that can be considered for inclusion on her Edu ISO.

Unless I misunderstand again. Sowwy, I am not a native English speaker, and my comprehension seems a bit dull these days.  ;D

Archie, I would say "Edu is education", and the Education has taken a long time to be ready, for several reasons, technical but also about the choice of applications, testing them... getting new versions for some, getting new ones for others and so on. It is now perfectly bundled, and I don't intend to change it to something else.

What I was thinking about would more look like purely games for small kids, without any educational software in it. Here is what I used to provide to my son when he was younger:

* pingus
* supertux
* tuxkart
* gnome-games
* an old Mario game : Yoshi Island, along with the dedicated emulator (I don't remember the name right now but if I see it I will remember)

and also Supertuxkart, and one with the pinguin sliding on the snow, what was the name ? got it : tuxracer (extreme* now)

and also foobillard, egoboo, ri-li... rocksdiamonds, wormux, and xmoto. :D

Don't know if this will be any help, in the future..... Does Openbox have an equivalent to gnome's "custom application launcher", or kde's "quick launch" widget? You can choose the appropriate shell script, copy the app's icon when you set it up, and run it with one click.

Hi,

I think there is one which can be installed and used, but it is more complicated than the method described above.

I'll try to look for it, though.
