Sound does not play Logitec USB Headset H330 (Solved)
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:17:37 PM »
Hi,

I don't know how to configure that. I googled, found a few clues about pulseaudio needed, tried to add all PA, with task-pulseaudio, configure it in PCC, look at what the console commands can do, the volume managers.. and pa manager. I don't know how to use that, and how to configure.

Here are the specs:

Is Pulse Audio working for you without problems?

Do you have Pulse Audio Volume Control installed?

Each source can be directed, using PAVUControl, to any of the audio sinks you have connected ....  on board audio, hdmi, PCI audio, USB audio .... so check in PA Vol Ctrl to see where it is being sent from the browser.
You may need to install Pulse plugins for some apps.

Hi, Firefox or videos (any) don't appear in the tab "read" in pavu control. Clementine do, VLC does, I can't listen to the music from videos flash using this headset, for now.

If you have another idea... don't know what plugin I should install, I had just installed

mpg123-pulse (1.13.4-1pclos2011)
openal (1.12.854-1pclos2010)

there is lirc, and gconf related pulse which are not installed, and I don't quite see what the could provide additionally to solve this ?

Do you have installed

alsa-plugins-pulse-config
libalsa-plugins-pulseaudio
pulseaudio-client-config

what audio backend is FF using? Is there some package relating to pulse for that backend that is not installed?

xine-plugin-pulse?
vlc-pulse?

Hi,

Yes, yes, yes, xine-pulse not. (installing now). What do you call FF backend ? Is it the preferences section where we can configure the associated application ?

Thank you. :)

If FF is using Xine for its audio processing ...

Yes ....  Preferences - Applications - Flash Video maybe

Hi Just18,

I decided to give up and buy a cheaper headset which works out of the box. I bought a headset brand Genius, for 6.50 euros and will bring back the one branded Logitech which costs 19.90 euros. The headset connected with a jack connector works out of the box. I am not going to bother further...

Thanks for your help. (You look younger each year ! How do you do that ? ^^)

Regards,
Mélodie

I use a Logitech Wireless Headset ...  and have done for quite some time.
It is better quality sound and MIC than any of the cheaper brands I have tried.

Great to be able to move about and still listen and talk.

From what you have posted the problem has nothing at all to do with the headset, but everything to do with your settings.
If it works for one sound stream it will work for others ;)

As you have Pulse Audio installed it is a matter of directing any existing sound stream to the headset ....  or to the speakers ....  or to a BlueTooth earpiece ....  or to .....  whatever might be attached to the PC.

The one I have is USB, not wireless.

I don't know... When I listen to music with this headset, in Clementine, or in VLC, I find it to appear in the "Listen" tab of the pulse audio volume manager. But the videos don't appear.
