Why ? What should show this ?   acpi_backlight=Linux
why not xbacklight -set value , example xbacklight -set 50

How this work?
This command edit file in  /sys/class/backlight/... or /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCDD/...  ?
These files exist only on laptops?

--- Quote ---actual_brightness  brightness         max_brightness     subsystem/    uevent
bl_power           device/            power/             type
--- End quote ---

What if He don't have this files?

He need only xbacklight installed?
He don't need add xbacklight -set value  in /etc/rc.local ?
I don't see backlight in synaptic , maybe can xbacklight ? This is in synaptic.
This is this same?
What doing  acpi_osi=Linux ?

Edit:
I find
acpi_osi=Linux
Tells the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) that the Operating System Interface (OSI) is Linux.

acpi_backlight=vendor
Tells the system to use the vendor-specific driver for the backlight instead of the system's default driver.

From google translate:

--- Quote ---So updates. Kernel is running down all the keys for HP 6735s under PCLinuxOS 2012 is 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs. Cheers and thanks again for your help and everyone direction to solve the problem, without you I would not know even 10% of what I know about Linux.

PS: Kernel is available in the repository

Problem is with 3.2.18 kernel,
and He don't have  file in  /sys/class/backlight/... , but I don't know - whether it could be the problem?
