-This is on the Asus EeePC 701 with 2011.6 Updated, installed fully to an 8Gb SD card.
I bought a big battery for the thing, and since then I have just left it going. When play ceases for the day I shut the lid, putting it into hibernation. From time to time I poke the charger up it to keep the battery happy.
However, despite performance being faultless while it's up, if I shut it down then restart I get a drop to shell and am ordered to run fsck. This turns up multiple instances of missing inodes which I wade through tapping the (y) key to repair them until it will boot up, and life goes on. Until I have another period of hibernation. And a restart.
The question is: What is happening to all these inodes? Is it a concern, and how might I prevent it, if prevention is important. My other tool, the HP laptop, doesn't do it. But it goes completely to sleep which may be a clue. The Eeep only suspends when set to hibernate, sleeping with one eye open as it were and consuming battery to do it. I haven't yet found a way to make it truly hibernate.
