Hi,
I was thinking we have great apps but when it comes to Office suite we have "only" the most beautiful ones, which also are the heavy cavalry, if I can say so.
Abiword is not very reliable on the time, the files happen to get corrupted, large files sometimes are not very well handled, and I always prefer for this reason to use Libreoffice. In a few months or years we will be able to use the OO-Light in construction by a team since some time.
I went to the web have a look about all this... google docs : ok, why not ? Yet if a connection to the web happen to be missing...

But I found SIAG, in a page of liste Office suites for Linux, (at lea-linux.org). First question I wondered, is it developed currently ? Answer is YES !
http://siag.nu/Siag Office is a tightly integrated, free office package. It consists of the spreadsheet Siag, the word processor PW, the animation program Egon, the text editor XedPlus, the file manager Xfiler and the previewer Gvu.
Incredible ? All in 1.5 MB sources...

I added all packages for devel I was missing, and still get this error at the end of the configure:
checking for main in -lXext... no
checking for main in -lXmu... no
checking for XCreateIC in -lX11... yes
checking for main in -lXpm... no
Xpm library not found
I have all devel Xest, Xmu, and Xpm installed. I have looked at the web for Xpm by the way : that's old stuff ?
ftp://ftp.x.org/contrib/libraries/ftp://ftp.x.org/contrib/libraries/libXpm-4.7.tar.gz 233 KB 29/06/1996 00:00:00
our's is yet older : 3.5.9.
Who is interested to help get to a good build result ?
Regards,
Mélodie
