What command do you run there?
I just tyoed in volumeicon
Were you having trouble with volumealsa?
yes Neal, its icon doesn't appear across reboots. I have to go to lxdecc and click refresh panel for it to appear.

Good things come in small packages. From small minds, not so much.

Interesting.
This brings immediately the applet in the tray here.

yeppers, although not now since I uninstalled volumeicon. and it's not the icon that's a problem anyway. it's the volumealsa icon that's appearing and disappearing.  ;D

I know Neal. My fault.  :-[

anyway I found the problem  :D

apparently it only happens if I set the guest to autologin. It's fine if I just log in at boot.

I created a new user just to see if it was any different. it wasn't. And as I mentioned the icon wouldn't disappear across logins, just boots and reboots. turns out it was because I was auto-logging in. if I set either user to autologin the icon for volumealsa doesn't display. If it's set so I have to log either in, it does. tada  :D

Odd. I never have the problem here, auto or manual login.
