I've been running PCLOS 2010 KDE with compiz for about 6 months. I've heard
good things about LXDE, and I thought I'd try it out this afternoon.
I know compiz works fine with my hardware.
When I was running KDE, I used Synaptic to install the task-lxde package.
I tried going to PCC->Boot->Set up display manager, but I only had choices
for KDE and XDM. I restarted the display manager, but I still did not get a
choice for LXDE. How can I get a choice between KDE and LXDE when I boot up?
So I tried downloading PCLOS 2011 LXDE and burned a LiveCD. I booted up on it,
and LXDE came up fine. But once again, I couldn't figure out how to get the
compiz effects (like the rotating cube) to work with LXDE. What does one have
to do get compiz to work with LXDE?
Feeling stupid, but not too proud to ask for help....
