I know this has been discussed before - most likely in Forum Rules - but it is something that becomes more apparent when a new release has occurred.
Threads starting with "XXYY Doesn't Work" achieve nothing IMHO. They are not likely to elicit helpful and patient responses from our more experienced members. As an aside, I have noticed (with a certain amount of suspicion) that some of these aggressive postings arise from members with a very low number of posts - typically < 10.
That might be the cynic in me coming to the fore.
Now, if that struggling new friend had addressed his / her query with "I can't get XXYY to work", it would seem that more caring responses might be forthcoming. It also suggests that they expect to get it to work, perhaps with another person's help, soon
I used to hear students in my classroom say, "I can't understand quadratic equations" or whatever. I would say to them, "Change that to read 'I can't understand quadratic equations yet
'". That shows the determination that they expect to understand the bl**** things in the near future.
There's my 2 cents worth.
Mods, if you want to move this out of the Sandbox, feel free to do so.
