« on: August 25, 2011, 02:04:05 AM »
I have 6GB DDR3 memory but PCLINUXOS find just 2,5GB, and makes 3.9 SWAP.
Is there something that actualy i can do about this? Thats the first distro that cant properly find all my memory.

You need to install a PAE kernel. Open Synaptic package manager > click Reload > click Mark All Upgrades > click Apply > click Apply in the confirmation window. When that has completed, click Search > enter "kernel" (without the quotes) into the search field > via the drop down menu, change Description and Name to Name > click Search. Look for and mark to install either the PAE or the BFS.PAE kernel > Apply > Apply >reboot. Be patient during the first boot up. All your modules and drivers need to be built against the new kernel. It will take time.

Well actually it can find it all with the proper kernel as you have found out.  Think that even that OS from Redmond could not see all your memory by default, until the latest version(s)  Glad that you got it sorted out though.
