memory requirements?

in hard disk usage or in ram usage?

when devede process the video doesn't use much ram but uses all the cpu

in ram, maybe 100mbs? i never put much attention, with the 1 gb of ram i have here, never worried about ram

hard disk is different, depends on how you use devede

I use it to convert avi/mpeg4/ and others to a iso for buring-i have 1.5gigs in that pc and sorta need to lower it to 1 gig to use  ram in diffrent pc-so i going from 1.5 gigs  down to 1 gig i shouldent see a big diffrence?

lxde uses even less ram, all should be ok, be sure to have enough cpu, something over 1.5ghz

I just like a basic desktop no frills or "bling" I don't need  a cube-fire- wobbly windows-or  windows that become paper airplanes so i say "KISS" my desktop.(Keep it Simple Stupid)

LXDE had a low learning curve for me Ive used  gnome and xfce  on other os's. PCLinuxOS has that "small town feel" to me that I like.
The other guys that ive tried ,mostly *buntu based just make things more complicated than "I" need em to be and the Lxde they offer imho is well lacking in other areas you guys managed exceed my need's in with out hours of tweeking as i did on the others.

I see no need for my daily use so why not save resources for other things

i don't have any of that, kde4 by default comes with very little to no effects and i'm having problems with my video card, but i still miss my wobbly windows  :'(

this is true, it is simple, you don't get lost anywhere

"PCLinuxOS has that "small town feel" to me that I like"

really?  with the amount of users and the level of perfection of each iso i don't feel that

maybe a deep simplicity that makes everyone feel welcome with space to grow
