Probably because hardware detection is aborting and not properly setting up all the devices.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

I was carefully watching the booting messages (loaded the LiveCD more than 10 times in different modes) and didn't notice hardware detect abortion. :-\

You won't see any output other than thinking...

Configuring the videocard to Geforce 6100 to Geforce 360 crashes X (I guess) with a message on a black screen

I tried that because was not allowed to change screen resolution unless I change the video card driver.

So now examining combinations of Monitor<->Resolution<->picked video drirver<->(the order of picking)<->mode of loaded LiveCD<-> (and other depends) for to elucidate how to change screen resolution without X-crash in LiveCD session.

nVidia 9600 GT card here.

Using the current nvidia drivers needs a system reboot to work. so it works only on a hdd install.
Guess it works on the next test iso when also the nouveau driver is on  the livecd.

Using the current nvidia drivers needs a system (2)reboot to work. so it works only on a (2)hdd install.
Guess it works on the next test iso when also the (1)nouveau driver is on  the livecd.

I was able to pick nouveau from the X-section in that PCC choices.
Yes I know that should work by reboot but my goal was to cnange the resolution only and I have a partial success which must include  changing of video-card and after that monitor/resolution. Logout/login and the LiveCD resolution is altered.
