Merged menu icons [Solved]

I created and merged my own menus to show new categories and sub-categories on the applications menu. the new menus do not have icons, does any one know how to show icons for merged menus?

I don't understand your question. What square? what name?

This has nothing to do with Kmenuedit or any other menu editor, these are custome menus that I created for myself.

First the 2 threads deal with different issues
this thread deals with showing icons for custom categories and sub-categories that I created for my self and they show when you click the application menu button on the left side of the panel along with the standard menu.
Example:
I have created category    "Multimedia"
This has 4 sub-menus (child menu)
  "Multimedia -> Audio"
  "Multimedia -> Video"
  "Multimedia -> Graphics"
  "Multimedia -> Other"
I can place any application that I want in any of the categories, the applications launchers have their icons because that is defined in the "application.desktop" file
The menu entries show only the name with a generic icon, I want to show my own icons beside the menu name
I hope this is clear enough

created "my_menu_name.directory" files
Now the icons show ;-)
