When is a .jpg NOT a .jpg?
« on: August 16, 2011, 11:12:52 PM »
I imported hundreds of pictures from several memory cards.  I use Gwenview with LXDE.  Some of the .jpg files show the clock and then the picture, others show the circle with the red stripe, saying they are not recognized files.  I do not understand why some are some are not recognized?

It's hard for us to use telepathy, so, if you can upload ( ? Dropbox ? ) those pictures, maybe someone can have a look at it

Try to rename one of that images, removing the .jpg suffix, and then try gwenview again.
When an extension is present it is used to identify the file, when not present several programs including gwenview, try to indentify the file/image by it's content.
