Most of the WM's on light that have Menuing systems update their menus on start up, this means that the best way to update the menus is to restart the WM - this can be done by clicking on the "restart icewm" option (or the equivalent in the other WMs)

If this does not work then using the xdg_menu -v && update-menus -v then clicking the restart WM option will.

Jase

I logged out and back but didn't work, that's why I'm eager to get home and try the other options  ;D

I reinstalled and updated light latte today at 7:00 o'clock between the coffee and breakfast

Just to let all you guys know, I am intending to learn packaging (initially in order to do some custom packagers for latte in he future)and focus on that task for the time being, so for now the IcedLatte project will go to sleep I will however keep the current link available.

just to reiterate Iced latte is not dead - just sleeping for now.

It's running on me machine - actually still the beta - and I don't care how deep you freeze it - it is my working install and it will stay that way until you unfreeze it again.

I'll let you know if and when I encounter problems.  You probably won't hear much from me if my experience until now is anything to go by.

In the meantime I start my wish list of packages for latte - with Christmas coming and a new and keen packager at my disposal this is an opportunity not to be missed. ...  ;D

Thanks longtom, I am currently reorganizing all my partitions and data on my tw of my machines to make room for two packaging environments (32/64) on one machine, and also working on reinstalling on another machine to have as my main install its taking a bit longer than expected , I am also working on an project iso that yo may find interesting (along with others in this thread) .

Be rest assured that Latte will be back (Lighter than ever), but only when its ready to be :)

Hootiegibbon  you can take your time, as longtom says it works fine and I'm using it too 24/7 serving PCLOS torrents, to read news early in the morning, and sometimes to roam the forums at night.

A problem that I just can't solve.

I'm using Window Maker right now in a nettop Aspire with an Atom 230, 1GB Memory and Nvidia ION LE Graphics, I installed the proprietary drivers but is the same with free drivers .

In PCC video is configures as 1680x 1050 but images with that size are too big for the screen. Where do I configure video in Window Maker?

Thank you

Crow,

That suggests that the resolution is set lower than the screen size itself, check out pcc resolution and see what its set to. (I would normally use pcc to check this out - although it may be worth checking out the windowmaker menu for options (also have a look at the excellent coverage of windowmaker in the magazine)

Which image viewer is it you are using? some of the image viewers will show the picture fullsize unless told to scale the picture

PCC shows:
Quote
Graphic Card - Nvidia GEforce 6100 to GEForce 360
Monitor - Flat Panel 1680 x 1050
Resolution - 1680 x 1050 16 bpp (I changed color at some point playing with the settings but it didn't affect it)
Options - Enable translucency
Use hardware accelerated mouse pointer
Enable RENDER acceleration
Automatic start Xorg

Window Maker seems to pick another resolution, I'm looking now the magazines, a lot of info there.

Not finding anything. Probably is a config file but none of those I've seen have a reference to the screen resolution.

I have a question regarding wifi  in this version.
I wana try this out on a old dell dimension 2100 w/a p3@1.1 -512 ram -20 gig hd

My apt. complex has free wifi so i never bothered gettin a hard line, with other pclinux's they have what i see as the easiest to set up otb wifi ,did you leave in all the wifi packages?
Thanx in advance.

The  hardware detection including wifi should be exactly the same as the main releases as nothing has been removed in that aspect, and can be configured via PCLinuxOS Control Centre.
