Xfce / LXDE connection?
« on: August 15, 2011, 12:29:50 PM »
I'm a bit confused as to the relationship between Xfce and LXDE. About a week ago I installed PCLOS Phoenix edition with the Xfce DE. But there sure do seem to be lots of LXDE apps in my menu, especially in the configuration menu. I've checked out the home pages of both DEs for clarity, but neither mentions the other to any degree, nor are the Wikipedia entries enlightening. This isn't a problem in any way, but I'm curious: why so many LXDE apps in an Xfce installation?

I got it from the link in the Phoenix release announcement on the home page. Think I used the heanet link. Here's what I see in my menu under configuration:
Configure your LXDesktop, LXAppearance, LXAutostart, LXCursor, LXDE Restore MBR, LXKeyboard and Mouse, LXMonitor Sessions, LXSession-Edit, and of course on the desktop is LXTerminal.  In more applications > configuration > configure your LXDE Desktop > set wallpaper, of the few choices there I have chosen the LXDE_rain.jpg. All these LXDE related choices are what prompted my question.
