btw, you wrote a reply to what i wrote but i didn't read it

posts like yours are what makes people not want to help others, at least made deeper that feeling on me, tired of that linux unjustified anger

Your statement:"You want to use a supported office package for business?" proves lack of insight. I live in the Philippines and try to help people  and schools getting going with free Linux and free office. Call a school "business" if you like but the average elementary and even high school here is NO business as it is NO joke. The teachers, learners etc., has NO money to buy a "supported office package for business".

It was a question not a statement ......  hence the question mark!

Insight?  I read your post. You now want readers to know what is behind the post and not written?
I am not psysic .....  I commented on what you posted

I see ....  no money, yet

So Bill (or Steve), how much did you say again?

Clear indication there that you intended to purchase ......  no? .... again insight required?

Your 12 years using Linux must have given you the wherewithall to come up with the various answers provided by others, without outside influence.

In truth your post reads to me like a spoiled child whose favourite toy is broken and has a tantrum to have it fixed by someone.

Simple answer ....  if it doesn't now do as you need, then change toy .....  threatening to leave home because your toy is broken is ......  (fill in as seems appropriate)

regards.

Now that puts a completely different light on things! No money on hands, so going MS is not an option anyway.

Would you be able to go with a live cd for now? Did you make a remaster you can use? If not maybe someone here could provide you with a remaster with LO or OOo included. Else you could use some static distro instead. All things Linux is better than Windows in your situation.

As for your age, why not get an assistant who can be your successor one day? Someone who's still in his 'playing days'? Sorry if I'm suggesting the obvious.

So, back to finding solutions: did you try any other apps?
All that is is good. PCLinuxOS is.

A remaster that includes OOo and Libre that would be nice for me on my new laptop, which has yet to find and access either one lol.

OK wild Idea! How about the print from screen function. If you could Would Gimp help, as in making an image, then print from screen and then it would be easy to set up after that.(I hope)

The next suggestion would be getting an old copy of 3.5 then using you can too frozen repo to update and use the Virtual box.

You might have to go to the site and the one that works with usb for PClinuxOS just in case i still have that patch.

So you would keep your present up to date distro, but also have the ole reliable 3.5.

and the bugs will be worked out and you don't sound brattish to me and I know brats i have 4 mobile targets of my own lol

thats all state saying.   ;D

bicoll,
Just19 proposed, say, downgrading LO or installing OO. Why won't you try that?

True, you could still install OO and mark it to not update.

I reckon that says it.  Tbh - I can relate.  The attack on the op was certainly uncalled for.  I know that kind of behaviour from other forums but not from here.  Hope this is an exception.
