Help please. I have the above processor, it is triple core, 64 bit. What would be the best kernel to use?

The following is specifically for AMD CPU's

kernel-2.6.38.8-pclos3.a64  - AMD64/Opteron (K8) optimised linux kernel for x86 arH

But if you have 4GB (or more) of memory you could consider the .pae kernel as that will utilize all of the the memory (upto 64GB I think)

But both are good.

There are also kernels with the bfs patch will in some circumstances can make things faster.

There are earlier kernels available as well in case you don't want the .38 release
