[SOLVED] LXDE not full screen
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:17:40 PM »
Why is the LXDE version when ran in Live Mode not full screen? Is there a way to correct this? I installed PCLinuxOS LXDE in the past and it still was not full screen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

I haven't found this problem with the live CD.
Firstly, I opened PC Control after putting in the required root password
Under Hardware > Configure Graphics > Configure Video Card, I changed my monitor to Flat Panel 1366 X 768 (my laptop)
Next line down, I changed Resolution to Other > 1366 X 768. Accepted the changes
After accepting this, I logged out and then back in again and I had the full screen.
If the panel is not full width, you can Unlock the Widgets > Panel settings > More Settings > Maximize Panel.

Now that last line certainly applies for the KDE version. It's a while since I messed around with LXDE but there should be a way of changing the panel width.

In the Open Box version, right clicking on the panel allows one to increase the panel width to 100%. It just might be similar in LXDE. But I have no doubt you will get it fixed.

Good luck

The default is full screen. Check your videocard and monitor settings in PCC.

This may be something specific to your hardware. If you would post the information about your hardware, it would help. Also post steps taken to resolve this. In short, please do not short us on information. A complaint without details helps no one.

========================

@jimwilk,
Widgets is a KDE thing. LXDE does not use KDE tech.
LXPanel is full width by default. I see no reason to change that. :)

Ah yes, sorry Neal. I have only installed LXDE on our grandkids' machine which is 1 hour south. I got confused between LXDE and KDE panel settings.
