Summary of what I have done/or not with your help, AS. Thanks.
1. I left the mouse acceleration as is. I think what I need is just those little arrows on the corners and sides to be bigger. But I can change the size etc other ways.
2. Found the screen shot resizer OK. I just hadn't clicked/explored far enough to find it.
3. I managed to get the top panel to the bottom of screen. Now I have Panel 1 and Panel 2 both at the bottom stacked a top. Must figure out (or be told
) how to integrate the two.
an additional note about "mouse control": it appears that (from other threads ...) you have had some issues using newer kernels on your machine, and some sluggish behavior, particularly mouse behavior, I mean the issue described in this thread:
Is your current mouse issue somewhat similar to that one experienced in the past ?
Back to this. I am not sure I want to attribute this to Mouse. No, when I use the Mouse in XFCE to resize, I just couldn't see those little arrows and get hold of them. I don't think it is similar to the sluggishness with that other Kernel. And I am going to add here before I forget. In KDE I am using an older Kernel (the # is someplace in the forum ) because the later one seemed erratic. But to tell the truth...the older one isn't running that great either.
But I am or have had problems in XFCE and KDE when I am in FireFox. I brought up a google search for some images and everything froze. I did wait and wait and finally it worked its way out of it.
I tried it again (just now) with the same search and NO problem. I may have had Scribus and Inkscape up or Gimp earlier. I tend to be working in several of those at the same time and often go looking for images to us. Maybe that is also a factor.
