[SOLVED] Problems installing programs
« on: August 07, 2011, 07:25:01 PM »
I was installing gnome-games (I like Mahjongg) and got an error in Synaptic. The error was APT system report: E: Transaction set check failed.
I went to the command line to install from there. It said that system-config-printer is needed by libgnomeprint01-218.6-1pclos2010.i586

I installed system-config printer and was then able to install gnome-games.

Why wasn't this picked up as a dependency? It install cleanly in the Summer-Fairy edition on my laptop.

Am also getting the ldconfig: command not found error but was able to correct that using the fix in http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,94896.0.html

All I can say is that the dependency is missing from the rpm package. I've seen a couple myself. Texstar is working overtime right now. Just post the missing dependency in the Broken Packages section. It will be taken care of.

Bare metal                           VBox
AMD Athlon 7750 Dual-Core    Single core
4GiB RAM                              1GiB RAM
nVidia GeForce FX 5200          64MB video
LXDE 32bit                            KDE 64bit

Looks like it has been covered in the Broken Packages already. Other than this, Phoenix has been perfect!

I'll mark this one solved

Thanks for the Help!
