Just got a new Toshiba Satellite L775D

I think the GPU/CPU combo is too new. Just released 06/2011.

Specs:
AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 1397MHz
Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC WIRELESS LAN

Is there some command line entry I can use to test the LiveCD

For me I want the video & the WiFi to work OOTB.

Btw it isn't just PCLOS KDE or MiniMe. I've tired like 12 or more
LiveCDs. Even tried some BSD distros.
Some of the distros I've tried:
MultiCore
CentOS
Puppy & variants
Chakra
Clonezilla
PartedMagic
GParted
Jibbed
NetBSD
CrunchBang
Bodhi
Debian

Any knowlegable suggestions welcome. I want to stay away from the buntus.
But I'll try Mint next. Gulp. Thanks.

You need to explain what you are doing at each boot attempt and EXACTLY what is happening .......  else no one on the forum has a clue what is going on.

For instance how many of the boot options have you tried?
Were those results EXACTLY the same as each other ....  if not what were the differences?

Please start again telling us what happens ....  in minute detail .....  for each boot option ...

I've tried safe boot on those LiveCDs that have it.

Yes I know how to burn ISOs.

I'm saying after all the commands roll by theres no video on most distros. A very few get farther. But then fail with no WiFi recognition. As an example the latest Mint everything is great but it doesn't recognize my keyboard.

did you read  Just19 post?

anyway, boot pclinuxos live cd in safe mode and if you get no video, open a terminal and as root type XFdrake and configure your card...

(i read somewhere that acpi has to be disabled... so, you can try to disable it in bios or by adding acpi=off to the boot parameters)

Try adding nomodeset as a boot option, this should get you going with the fbdev or vesa driver, after install you may want to install the proprietary catalyst (fglrx) 11.5 or later driver, this driver should work well. there are still some issues with the open source radeon driver.

I'm an idiot. Today I booted to PCLOS KDE 2011.6 LiveCD in full Safe mode. The other day must have booted into only video Safe Mode. Everything is OK so far. Anyways all my basics for a LiveCD work. Video, WiFi & Keyboard/touchpad. Sorry for my hissy fit. Great forum, thanks again for holding my hand once again. Marking this solved.
