I just noticed this behavior on mine, I just canceled a download and synaptic just crashed, every time I cancel now, this is happening,  ???

Welcome in the club... It's been solved now. The solution was to NOT TO CANCEL DOWNLOADS! Bazinga!

Tee hee! You cancel Synaptic, Synaptic cancels you!  ;D

:P

I try not to cancel ,but it's a habit hard to break, call it a weakness!!! :P

If the new synaptic gets interrupted during an apply session, if you choose 'no' in the popup,
to make re-applying possible, it crashes, instead of going back to the main screen. Your selections
are gone. No big deal when doing a 'mark all upgrades' session, but irritating if you were
installing a new selection of apps, like a dozen camera/photo apps for example.
The apps downloaded before the interruption do remain in the cache, and once you sort
out your selection again, the downloads pick up where needed.

Can You get a pocket mirror or a standing one and put it in front of Your PC? Seems to me that Your machine is a narcissistic bugger...

I've never been able to see myself in a mirror, and so have just assumed such things work on the subspecies.
I'm happy not to have wasted much time staring.
