I have tried the USB and the newest LXDE that has the new kernel. I could use the music disks immediately and also after being in use of the OS for several hours. And everything seemed to work smoothly.
Next I am going to use the USB to try the latest KDE which also has the newer kernel.
It has been suggested that I post the following here as there might be something that could be of help to know why I cannot play the cds at any time. Perhaps also something that might reveal why the new kernel is not working for me. All around I do not seem to be having that good experience that I have in the past.
I am not anxious to make any big changes (reinstalling
) and hope there is a simple solution.
