what does 2.6.38.8-pclos3 do????

???  It's a kernel, so it does what kernels do... it's the main piece of your OS.

pae is the extension to handle 4or gbs or more while using a 32 bit os

pae.bfs is the same as pae but with bfs modifications, to gain more speed on your desktop, on normal usage

some users report little to no improvement, others says that is alot faster than normal pae

I just installed a new motherboard and 8 GB of DDR3 ram, I installed the 2.6.38.8-pclos1.pae.bfs kernel and it's been very stable for me, going on three days now.

I'm running a Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H, and my Live-USB installed like a piece of cake, I was up and running in about 20 minutes, complete. Hopped on line downloaded the pae.bfs kernel. No problems. I use a Nvidia GTX 550 TI video card. PCLOS took to everything right away for me , very impressive, and I'm very happy. ;) 8) ;D
