I don't care for the 'standard-issue' clock format on most LXDE distros.
It's easy to change if you right-click the display then click the 'Setting tab.
If you want to make some changes, here is an incomplete list of the symbols:

This gets rid of the ugly preceding '0' on hours 1 to 9, does away with ':seconds'
and uses am & pm rather than AM & PM.
