Hi Sproggy,
On the title of this thread, I have to completely agree. This is the poorest review, by any reviewer, that I have witnessed for as long as I can remember. And I am about as old as dirt...
The thing that is so frustrating about things like this is the utterly unprofessional approach. I am a person who enjoys insightful reviews by knowledgeable, well prepared commentators. Most often reviews done by such commentators find both 'attaboys' and 'bad dogs' in their analysis, in a fairly balanced fashion. But they always show 'content knowledge'. This fellow had obviously not taken the trouble to prepare himself for the review, in any way. He couldn't even find his way around the menu system and the panel icons for gosh sakes! And the most pressing comments he had to start with were about color choices -- give me a break! If this were a review of cars, he would be saying, 'I will never buy a Mercedes Benz because I didn't like the color of the model I reviewed'. I wonder if the fellow understands the underlying Linux concept of customization, or whether he is just too lazy to customize a distro that he decides to use?
Anyway, from where I'm standing, I don't believe many who watch the video will place any credence to the comments presented. BTW, about being blocked from commenting on the review, I believe that is called censorship; a strategy usually employed by people who are unable to adequately defend their comments on a intellectual/technical level.
Phoenix 2011.07 is a fine product that represents PCLinuxOS exceptionally well, and should be a source of pride for what you do and how you do it....
My thanks for your fine effort.
