pcman question
« on: July 17, 2011, 10:32:07 AM »
I got a weird question, I upgraded my kde install with task lxde and its all perfect except when i open my home folder on desktop it uses dolphin. I set it to pcman still uses dolphin. I set main defaults to pacman still uses dolphin. If i use pcman icon in bar its fine, others seem fine but this one stubborn folder always opens dolphin. Ever see this?

Thanks Mo

It's a strange one. I've had dolphin installed here and had no trouble out of it. Hmm...... have you rebooted since installing task-lxde?

Try this -
Install desktop-extra-pcmanfm. Click on the "MyDocuments" (actually your /home) icon it adds to your desktop. Does it open with PCManFM?

Also, check your panel settings - right click >Application Launch Bar Settings - to see whether you have dolphin, rather than PCManFM on it.

ran desktop settings and reinstalled it, the my doc folder opens with pcman and i do have pcman on bar. i am thinking it must be a carry over from the KDE install ( the home folder)
Thanks Neal , Sure love the speed of this lxde

Took a nap, and now that my brain cell is some rested -- By default, LXDE has no 'Home' desktop icon, but if you have kde installed alongside it, whether added by task-kde to LXDE or task-lxde to KDE, the 'Home' desktop icon will be placed on your desktop.

Launch PCManFM, click Desktop on the left side menu and when it loads, right click the icon and open-with leafpad. Now you can edit it to be opened with PCManFM rather than dolphin.
