« on: July 16, 2011, 12:41:15 AM »
Where to get a PCLinuxOS VHD for latest versions reg and Full Monty?

It can be a VDI or VMDK .. doesn't matter, my VM software will use them all.

Do you guys provide this and I just missed it or what?

Are you referring to virtual hard drives?   ???

Here we install VirtualBox then use the liveCD or the .iso image to install the VM OS.

Yes, the virtual hard drive image. I have instructions to load the VM from a live dvd, just never done it. I like having the VDI,VHD format on hand cus it makes getting going with your VM a little faster. Just navigate to your VHD file (or whatever) and poof your good to go aside from your VM hardware emulation configurations. Plus, I like to collect em.

I did find this for the regular version: http://virtualboximages.com/PCLinuxOS+KDE+2011-6+Desktop+Virtual+Appliance

Just need a Full Monty version now.

Install VirtualBox and make one. From Synaptic, install the getvirtualbox package, then run it from the PC menu. It will both download and install the non OSE version of  VirtualBox with USB support.

I've known I could do that all along, I was just being lazy. ha! I already have VirtualBox VMWare and in windows VMLite Workstation, which I like the best. It's based off VirtualBox OSE so it will work the same way. But thanks for mentioning it, the info may help someone else who's reading this thread. I hadn't downloaded Full Monty yet, guess I'll have to do so and stop being lazy and create the VM image.

15 minutes of install is it too long for you?

That's not it. To save HD space I only wanted one version of the full monty on my system. This version was going to be the virtual image. I'm out of DVD's right now so I will have to download live or ISO TFM, make the virtual disk image for use, and keep both on my system till I get some dvd's which wont be till payday. I won't want to delete one and re-download later cus it takes forever to download 3 gigs for me. I was hoping to avoid all that by just getting a vdi image.

A 500GB Seagate can be had for like $50-60.  Assuming your computer is a newer model with a lto of RAM, which is required to run virutal machines on top oif your current host, what on earth do you have on your current HD which is filling it up?
