Just noticed today's update with synaptic wants to remove gnome-panel, gnome-power-manager and gnome-session without installing any replacements!

I can't think it will be long before someone updates without reading through the details of what getting installed and whats getting removed first!

What's going on guys!

I noticed the same but I proceeded with the update....

The result?

Cannot load Gnome anymore and it directs me to a "failsafe xterm" where I am requested to take corrective actions...

Which actions we should take in order to load GNOME (and the computer) normally again?

It's already reported and gonna be fixed.

Never apply a update when a package wants to remove important system (desktop) packages!
Updated upower package want remove some gnome packages is the issue.

I agree. Do we know what we have to do to correct it?

I would think something via command line in order to roll-back the applied changes. Can we done it?

Thanks for the info JW!
I will mark as resolved when it's gets to my heanet mirror and confirmed as working!

EDIT: The heanet mirror has the corrected updates now but use caution as your selected repo may not yet be up to date!
