[SOLVED] Updating to KDE 2011.6
« on: July 09, 2011, 11:58:12 AM »
Now that PCLinuxOS KDE 2011.6 is available I am going to upgrade to that.
I do not have a home patrition only a / partition.
Is there a method to installing the fresh .ISO without having to download each package from synaptic and then customizing each of them to my preference?
My partition layout is as follows;
Code: [Select]
[hollow@Destroyer ~]$ su
[root@Destroyer hollow]# fdisk -l

Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sda1   *        2048     4196351     2097152   83  Linux                            --- /boot partition            - a partition to boot from

As I understand PCLOS if you have been updating through Synaptic since you 1st installed it you already have the 2011.6 version. You know the reloading of Synaptic, the clicking of the Mark All Upgrades, then clicking Apply. If you've been doing that you got 2011.6! there is no need for you do dl'd a new disc.
If you like the setup you have you can always use make a disc or a bootable USB for yourself.
My curiosity so far hasn't killed me but it's come close.

Yes, if you have been keeping up with your updates and have installed/run aptupgrade then you have 2011.6.  Aptupgrade see:http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,92661.0.html

After running aptupgrade, reload in Synaptic, mark all updates, apply, apply.
