Hello

Been investigating....
As far as I can tell, sound gets configured right.
Udev finds the card and it shows up in /proc/asound/modules.
To get it to show up in /proc/modules, run draksound.  Don't select pulse audio.

Alsa mixer is the default.  Set your volumes and unmute with alsamixer command.
There's no cd player that will work.  Cdp is from a day when people drew on
cave walls.
Moc works best, but only plays playlists, so you have to rip some music.

FILES:
/dev/cdrom - link to cd drive
/dev/mixer
/var/lib/alsa/asound.state
/etc/asound.state
/etc/alsa/alsactl.conf
/etc/sysconfig/alsa
/proc/modules
/proc/asound/modules
TOOLS:
alsaconf - For legacy machines.  Don't use it with PCI machines.
alsamixer -h
alsactl -h
aplay -h
draksound
speaker-test -c 2  (not installed)
man pages

If you have multiple mixers installed, ie. alsa, gmixer, or kmix you have to
figure out which one rules the roost (/dev/mixer) and go from there.

If you install something sound related, and it doesn't work, the problem is the
software, not Pcli-noX. IMHO

ongoto,

I am just burning the new iso  - v6 - I have included a few more auto based apps for you to explore , its just video that missing - need to have a mplayer with out x depends ( this used to be the case )

This iso also has increased framebuffer ability and should auto detect the optimum resolution for most cards .it utilsises (I hope)  video=directfb

I am also looking to see if imagemajick or similar has the ability to work in framebuffer - gimp (and gtk can) but it takes a lotta work to do it .

ok its burned time for testing

Curious to see what you got.  I tried the video=directfb switch and I got a pretty big font, which is ok.  I can't see worth a darn anyway.   :)  I also just installed the directfb docs.  Gonna have a look.

abcde ripper works pretty good.  There's one other I wanna look at too while I'm at it.

Ok just thought I would give an update - seems that somthing has been borked up as 'v9' runs great via livecd but when installed looses wireless (live all my atheros cards work as do broadcom and rt2600 cards )

his may be to do with updating to testing and the newer toolchain, I suspect that my edits (thanks to Andy) to the existing mylivecd on the "master" install are not working as planned when the changes reach install time, I will look at thi today

I also want to now include fbterm and see if the "lite" toolkit examples work  if so it should make the experience a lot nicer

Fingers crossed that I can get this hacked up right
