you could verify what version of kernel, xorg and intel driver is being used there

with that info we can see what you need here to make pclinux work with your hardware

you know, change distros for only one reason doesn't help much anyone

I would like to give you all the versions, but I have installed another os at the moment. I do believe the kernel was the 2.6.38 bfs kernel.  I tried loading the 2.6.38 pae bfs kernel to see if that made a difference and it did not.  Thanks for the offer to help.  I distro hop a lot so I am sure that I will retry pclinuxos.  I think the intel driver was listed as i810 and later in pclinuxos control center.  I'm also pretty sure that the xorg was the most recent, since the first thing I did was update the system.

"I would like to give you all the versions, but I have installed another os at the moment."

the information of that other os is what i am asking, that one that is working

btw, you never mentioned what video driver your pclinux install was using before removing it

that doesn't help, if you ask for help, at least read the replies

I just watched a 44 minute stream from YouTube, in full screen mode, with no problems.

My experience:  Just updated my eeepc900 running the full-up KDE PCLOS (KDE4.6.5. xorg 1.10.2) and youtube runs flawlessly.  No stuttering, no buffering.  This thing has a 900 MHz processor so that's pretty low end, it also has an Intel Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Card.  Not exactly the most modern or powerful rig, and lastly it has 2G RAM, the max it can handle.  Summary - FOR ME low end hardware seems to work fine with the latest flash/xorg/KDE.

Of course, YMMV.   ;D
MLU.  Always in training.

AMD64 X2 4000, MSI K9N6SGM-V mobo, 2 Gig Crutial, WD 500G SATA. Lite-On 20X DVD-RW.  SINGLE-boot PCLinuxOS 2013 KDE4.10.1  3.2.18.bfs kernel.

eeepc900 netbook, 900MHz! 2 Gig ram upgrade, 16G drive upgrade, PCLinuxOS 2012 KDE4.9.2  3.2.18bfs kernel

yes, same here, that xorg update made flash tolerable on my old and weak machines

what is reported by thmark is that the mentioned distro is using older xorg and probably a patched version, we are using a more recent xorg, that is enough to break some compatibility

I'm not positive yet, but the os may have selected the wrong video driver by default.  I'm using mint at the moment and it is fairly up to date and it looks to be using the xorg i740 driver, and flash works great.  I will try again and select the i740 driver in pclinuxos.

tried it and broke the system. Linux intel graphics support will be a lot better in the coming months, I think.  I did some research and they just recently released some stuff.  The fact of the matter is, that intel integrated graphics (like the one in my i3 530 processor) support in linux is just not that great at the moment.  I look for it to improve.
